Prawn Paturi ( Fish Paturi )

This cooking itself has made its own brand.For those, who are more aware of health, the item is called ‘super hit’ because it is not fried with oil-it is boiled in a banana leaf.

Materials needed:

1big banana leaf(cut into four pieces),
Large or medium prawn fish,
2tablespoons of black mustard seeds (wet),
1tablespoon yellow mustard seeds (wet),
2tablespoons poppy seeds (wet),
1tablespoon melon seeds or kaju,
2green chilli,
grated coconut,
2/3 tablespoon mustard oil


Take black mustard seeds, yellow mustard seeds, melon seeds salt, green chilli and 2/3 teaspoons of water to make a paste in the mixer. Before mixing the spices, be sure to wet it with water, otherwise the paste will not be fine. Now add half spoon turmeric, grated coconut and 2/3 teaspoons of mustard oil in that paste. Mix this mixture well with prawn fishes.
Put the banana leaves in the microwave for 30 seconds before using it, so that it will be soft to use, otherwise it can be broken when the clamp is folded. After that, pour little oil in a leaf and put 2/3 spices prawn on it and fold the leaf well. Apply a tooth-peak to stitch the leaf so that the fish do not come out.
Leave this mixture in a pan with 2/3 spoons of oil in a pan. Keep in mind not to give more oil, because the it is done in vapour, not fried. Cook it in the pan until the leaf become black.
Now its ready to eat. Open the leaf and eat the prawn with the hot rice. You can also cook “paturi” with ‘hilsa’ or ‘vetki’ fish. The vegetarians can make it with ‘paneer’
