Cauliflower Manchurian ( Gobi manchuriyan )

Cauliflower manchurian ( Gobi manchurian ) is a yummy dish for those who love something spicy and saucy. This goes well with Fried Rice and is consumed both for dinner or lunch.


250 Gms Cauliflower Flowerets ( Gobi Florets ),
Maida / Plain Flour 4-5 tbsp,
Corn Flour 6-8 tbsp,
Ginger 1-2 tbsp (chopped),
Garlic 2-3 tbsp (chopped)
3 Green Chilies (chopped),
1 small Onion (chopped),
Black Pepper,
1/2 tsp Vinegar,
2 tbsp Tomato Ketchup,
2 tbsp Soya Sauce,
1 tbsp Chilli Sauce,
Spring Onion Greens,


1) Boil the cauliflower florets in water adding some salt for 3-4 minutes. Stain it and keep aside in a bowl. Take another bowl and mix all purpose flour, cornflour, salt and water to make a thick batter. Add boiled florets in the batter. Mix the florets well with the batter.
2) Heat oil in a pan. Put the coated cauliflower in the hot oil and fry it in medium flame. Once its done put it aside.
3) Again add some oil to a pan and heat it. Put chopped ginger, garlic, green chillies, chopped onions in the hot oil and cook it for a minute. Add salt and black pepper. Add soya sauce, chilli sauce, ketchup and spring onion greens. Get a good mix and cook for about a minute. Add 1/2 a cup water and cook it for another couple of minute.
4) Add the cauliflower. Toss them enough to coat the cauliflower with the sauce and cook it for about 2 minuteS.
Its ready to be served. Garnish with Spring Onion Greens and serve hot.
